Shaping the Future - Heraeus Corporate Guiding Principles 2020
The Heraeus Corporate Guiding Principles comprise the goals, self-concept, and working methods as well as the rules for behavior and values embraced by Heraeus, the precious metals and technology group. They apply to all employees, managers, and corporate bodies. The Heraeus Corporate Guiding Principles reflect the corporate culture within the Heraeus Group, a company with over 160 years of tradition. The principles are critically evaluated and realigned at least every ten years.
The new Heraeus Corporate Guiding Principles introduced in the summer of 2010 replace the Vision 2010 and the Corporate Guiding Principles established in the year 2000. The Core Values which Heraeus drafted Group-wide in 2000 and the Code of Conduct introduced in 2007 are now key components of the new Heraeus Corporate Guiding Principles. New elements include Vision 2020 as well as the company’s Mission, Management Principles and Shareholder Compass.

The lighthouse is a common symbol which is understood worldwide. It stands for navigation in good and bad times and is visible wherever we want to go in the next ten years.
The six elements
The Heraeus Corporate Guiding Principles bring together existing and new elements of the Heraeus corporate culture under one roof. They form the foundation for how we intend to shape the future of Heraeus.
The Heraeus Corporate Guiding Principles consist of six elements: Vision 2020 and the company’s Mission, Management Principles, Code of Conduct, Core Values, and Shareholder Compass. Some of these elements already have a long tradition within the family-owned company, while other elements are new.
- The Vision sets forth the Heraeus Group’s long-term goals, to the year 2020.
- The Mission describes who are as an organization as well as our businesses and markets.
- The Management Principles specify how we lead and structure the Heraeus Group.
- The Code of Conduct defines important rules of behavior we are committed to.
- Our Core Values underpin the way we conduct our daily business.
- Our Shareholder Compass presents key values and goals from the shareholders’ standpoint.
